History

D4C was founded in 2018 based on a summer course Design Impact Laboratory established by Karim Najjar at AUB. D4C offers year-round programs about community-based design to young professionals across Lebanon

Goals

D4C bridges the gap between academia and the professional world by providing practical experiences and opportunities for young professionals in real-life community-based projects. We develop innovative, low-tech solutions for sustainable development

Mentoring young professionals

- 16 mentored young professionals in the field of Community-Based Design annually

Project development and implementation

- 6 developed project proposals that improve the quality of life of local communities

- 2 implemented architectural projects that reinforce the social cohesion between communities
